This year, Hugo Elementary will be holding its annual Easter egg hunt. Although they have had this for many years, this year will be unlike any other. The reason this year is different is because more than one school is getting involved.
This year’s event begins at noon today. Grades Kindergarten through first are participating. There will be fun activities all throughout the day. The students are going to be rotating through four stations. These stations include going to the art room with the Hugo High students, computer games, a story will be read to them in the library and then the egg hunt. Also, every kid will get a sucker or prize and a sticker that says “I am an eggceptional egg hunter.”
The third grade will be the ones spreading the eggs out across the field. The middle school students will be making candy bags to pass out to all of the kids after school. This is not the only exciting thing that has recently been planned. Just a couple of weeks ago, the students were paid a visit by Viola the elephant. The kids paid $1 to ride her. When the  day was done, the school had raised $1,300 and donated it to the family of a Hugo  student, who was recently diagnosed with cancer.
