| Hugo track team hits the ground running |

By Alexzandra Cantu Hugo High School Student Reporter It’s that time of year again, track season has just started. Our boys and girls track team has been working very hard to get in shape for this season. They have been coming to practice at 7:30 every morning to run. This past friday, the team went to a track meet at Wilburton. Charlotte Debo, the girls’ track coach said about the meet, “The girls did great. They tried very hard and represented Hugo well.” All their hard work is evident. Many placed in this past track meet. Kimberleigh Allen placed fifth in the mile, Michael Bean placed fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and Jonathan Perry came in fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. The relay team, consisting of Brandarious Lane, Michael McCullar, Willie McAlester and Tevan Colbert, came in first. Brandarious Lane placed fourth in the 200 meter. Tevan Colbert placed fifth in the 100 meter and 200 meter. Michael McCullar came in third in the 100 meter and Willie McAlester came in fourth in the 100 meter. Congratulations to all who placed and good luck in all future track meets. Please come and support our boys and girls track team this season. The next meet is today at North Lamar. |
