| School janitor has strong work ethic and long list of experience |

By Shameir Ware Hugo High School Student Reporter A very important person that works at our school and makes it clean and neat is Willie Carey, our janitor. Carey has been a janitor for a year and a half at Hugo High School. Carey gives advice when asked and her duties as a janitor are to clean rooms and look out for the school and the kids. She said the job is not hard and she didn’t go to college to be a janitor. However, Carey did go to college. Carey has owned Hugo’s flea market for 10 years. She also worked for Tyson food for six years. Cutting hair has been a part of Carey’s life for 32 years. Carey opened her first beauty salon for black women in this area and helped other women become hair stylists. Others places Carey has worked include hospitals in Chicago and in Arkansas and she was a punch press operator at Imperial Wave. Carey’s work ethic is a great example for the students who work with her. She always has a smile and a kind word for people she encounters. |
