HUGO — The history books at Hugo High School are filled with stories of local lads who had big hearts and wore the black and gold colors proudly. Like countless generations of Buffalo warriors, they were willing to sacrifice their limbs and bodies for a Buffalo victory on Friday night.
Bruce Bloodworth was one of them. As captain of the Buffalo football team in 1942, he was given the honor of placing the crown on the head of Homecoming Queen Fern Campbell and performing the honorary kiss.
