City of Hugo pushes forward with $10M water project

HUGO –– In a special meeting held Wednesday, Hugo city council members took action regarding the town’s water situation, and made the decision to undergo the necessary repairs needed to meet standards issued by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality, for an estimated $10 million.
With the council contemplating a 40-year Rural Development loan (bond), and interest rate and grant money unknown factors at this time, a representative with Public Finance Law Group told the council the monthly repayment of the loan could be approximately $37,500.
