The Hugo baseball team dropped its season opener to Broken Bow, 8-4 Saturday afternoon.
The Buffaloes held Broken Bow to one run through three innings, but failed to keep Broken Bow from crossing home plate in the following innings.
“That’s a 4A ball club that’s usually pretty dominant,” Hugo coach Chance Baker said of Broken Bow. “I told (my players) we still have a few things we need to work on, but other than that I was proud of them. They played hard the whole game, we got things we gotta work on and we’ll go from there.”
