KINGSTON – In what has seemingly become a routine, the Hugo Lady Buffaloes blew out another opponent Thursday night.
This time, the victim was Marietta and the score was 47-22.
It was also the Regional Semifinals.
“Our defense the last couple of games has been tremendous,” Hugo coach Chris Scott said. “We do a great job of help defense and rotating.”
The Lady Buffaloes needed some time to create separation from Marietta, thanks to an uncharacteristic amount of turnovers.
“We’d get a steal or something, we’d get so anxious trying to get a bucket or something we’d just turn the ball over,” Scott said. “That’s something we’ve been working on in practice and hope to clean up later in the playoffs.”
Turnovers would plague the Lady Buffaloes throughout the game, but Marietta was unable to capitalize, thanks to Hugo’s stingy defense.
