The Fort Towson Lady Tigers softball team is going to the state tournament. Fort Towson superintendent Jason Price told the girls he'd let them give him a mohawk if they made it. As you can see (picture available with subscription to online edition) Price is a man of his word.

The 13th Annual Spring Art Show, held Saturday in the Frisco Depot Museum and sponsored by the Choctaw County Arts Council, had a grand turnout of 648 visitors. The following list includes the names of the "People's Choice" awards selected by visitors of the art show. A complete list of all judged and winning participants from area schools and adult artists will follow soon.

Adult "People's Choice" awards: Jane Burris, painting and drawing; Gloria McAfee Carver, photography; Robert Buck/Portraits in leath, all other categories.

RHONDA CAHILL OFFICIALLY BECAME THE CHOCTAW COUNTY ASSESSOR Friday morning after a swearing-in ceremony performed by Judge Jamie Wolfe. County commissioners voted Monday to appoint Cahill as the next assessor following the retirement of Becky Harris.
 
Oklahoma State, Boise State agree to home-and-home PDF Print E-mail

BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Boise State and Oklahoma State have agreed to play a home-and-home football series.

The schools announced Friday that Boise State will travel to Stillwater, Okla., on Sept. 15, 2018, while Oklahoma State will make the return trip to Boise on Sept. 18, 2021.

The schools will exchange a guarantee of $400,000.

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy says the matchup with be a quality non-conference game for both teams, which is important as the NCAA moves to a four-team playoff to determine the national champion.

Boise State athletic director Mark Coyle says the Broncos are excited to bring a quality team like Oklahoma State to Boise.
