BOSWELL — A Campbell, Texas man was taken into custody after kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend before she fled from the vehicle they were in Sunday morning in Boswell. According to Choctaw County Deputy Sheriff Larry Hendrix, employees at Pierce’s Grocery called for an ambulance at 10:38 Sunday morning when a handcuffed woman ran into the feed store screaming that she had been assaulted. Store employees told authorities that the man who kidnapped her was in the process of purchasing beer, when he dropped the beer and ran from the building. According to Officer Hendrix, the woman was taken to Choctaw Memorial Hospital and later driven by ambulance to a Hunt County (Greenville, Texas) medical facility. After the man fled the grocery in Boswell, a regional alert was given to all area law-enforcement agencies and an alert officer at the Choctaw Casino in Grant reported the man’s vehicle had been there. The kidnapping and assault victim told officers the man was driving her 1988 Buick LeSabre and that he had told her he was going to kill her and not return to prison. Hendrix said he had done an extensive stint in a Texas prison and had been out on parole for approximately a year.
