SAWYER — A 17-year-old Choctaw County youth was air-lifted to a Tulsa hospital Friday evening after he was shot by his 11-year-old brother.
According to Sheriff Lewis Collins, officers were called to the residence north of Schooler Lake between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday.
Collins said the incident was a domestic squabble that apparently got out of hand, with a 17-year-old attacking his mother and grandmother with a knife.
The teen was said to be attacking his mother when the younger child shot him with a .22-caliber rifle to protect his mother.
Collins said he thought one of the women required stitches. The condition of the teen has not been released.
