HUGO — Following a closed executive session during a special meeting Tuesday at City Hall, Hugo City Council members unanimously voted to amend and extend the city’s contract with the city of Irving, Texas which sets forth a complex set of circumstances through which Irving may purchase future water from Hugo. The council now waits for Irving to sign the same contract during its meeting Thursday. The agreement concerning water purchase and sale extends the contract for five more years and adds an additional $375,000 commitment for legal fees, extending the maximum amount Irving could be obligated to pay to $875,000.
