| Cowboys and cowgirls to come together for 73rd Boswell Homecoming |

BOSWELL — Boswell celebrates its 73rd annual Homecoming this weekend with the theme of “cowboys and cowgirls.” The festivities begin at 8 p.m, Friday with Boswell Rodeo Association’s UPRA rodeo on Highway 70, east of Boswell. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children 4-12 at the gate. Children 3 and under are free. Advanced tickets may be purchased from queen contestants. Saturday’s events begin from 8 to 10 a.m. with registration in front of old city hall. Visitors can register for prizes, which will be given away at noon at Boswell Lake. Registrants must be present to win. From 9:30 to 10 a.m., princesses and little miss princesses will be crowned at city hall. At 10 a.m., the parade and welcome ceremony will begin downtown. Joan Edge will host. Registration for the parade will be at Hunter and North 10th Street. All four-wheelers, bikes and little tot’s ATVs will gather on North 10th, all floats will meet on North 11th. Horse riders and horde-drawn wagons will meet at South 11th Street. Tractor trailers and horse trailers should park at the rodeo arena and tractors will meet on North 11th. A free barbecue luncheon will be served from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Boswell Lake. Awards will be given for parade entries and local talent will perform. Members of the class of 1965 will celebrate a reunion from 2 to 4 p.m. in the school cafeteria. At 7 p.m., UPRA rodeo action kicks off again at the Boswell Arena. The rodeo queen will be crowned during the event. From 9 p.m. to midnight, a country western street dance will bring a fitting end to the homecoming celebration. At 10:30 p.m. some lucky person will receive a Las Vegas giveaway sponsored by Walmart of Durant and Boswell Bank. The 2010 Boswell Homecoming committee consists of Larry Hughes, president; Tamari Eastwood, secretary and queen coordinator; Jeanette Robison, secretary and treasurer; and Verlon Robison, chairman.
