HUGO –– Pushmataha County officers, Choctaw County Sheriff, Choctaw County EMS, Hugo Police Department and Grant and Hugo Fire Departments were among those on the scene three miles south of Hugo on Highway 271 Tuesday afternoon to assist in the extrication of a man after his vehicle crashed.
Thirty-six year-old Jeremy L. Posey of Paris, Texas was southbound on Highway 271 when his 2000 Cadillac departed the roadway to the right and overturned one and a half times, coming to rest on its top, according to police reports.
Posey was pinned in the vehicle for about 15 minutes before being removed with the help of the Jaws of Life. He was using a seat belt.
Posey was flown by EagleMed to Plano Medical Center with head, trunk-internal, trunk-external and arm injuries. He is listed in stable condition.
It is the belief of the investigating officer that Posey’s ability was impaired due to the effects of alcohol.
