HUGO –– A two-day trial concluded Tuesday after the defendant changed his plea from not guilty to guilty in the matter of State vs. James Kevin Lindamood. According to reports from the District Attorney’s office, Lindamood, represented by Julie Ball, was originally facing three counts, but entered a blind plea to maintaining a place for keeping or selling controlled substances and failure to register as a sex offender. Once assistant District Attorney Bill Baze announced the resting of the state, Lindamood entered a guilty plea to the remaining count of manufacturing of methamphetamine within 2,000 feet of a school, reports stated. A judge will determine the sentencing for Lindamood on July 10. According to Baze, Lindamood faces a minimum sentence of 21 years, up to a maximum of life. “We would just like to express our gratitude to the jury for their services regarding this case,” Baze said.
