HUGO –– Hugo Police answered a call regarding a possible burn victim on Sunday, July 1. According to official reports, Hugo Police responded to an empty lot at the corner of S. D St. and Kiamichi St., where they observed an individual, who is known to be homeless, sitting under a tree with burns on his arms and legs and burn marks on the cot he had been sleeping on. Officers also reported they could smell an odor associated with lamp oil, and noticed an empty lamp at the scene. While on the scene, records state, officers spoke with an individual who claimed he witnessed a verbal altercation occur with the victim and an indian male the previous night, and when he came to take the victim to breakfast, noticed the burns on his extremities. An arrest has yet to be made.
