By AMBER HANNEKEN HUGO — The city of Hugo will be smoke testing on June 4 in the 4th ward, which is north of Jackson, west of the railroad tracks — the areas of the Golden Age Nursing Home down to the Depot.
“We put smoke into the sewer system in specific locations so we can tell if we have any leaks,” City Manager David Rawls said. “There will be about 18 people in the neighborhood to identify the locations. We’ll mark those locations.”
There is an in-flow problem in the sewer system in that part of town, which the city is working to repair. The smoke is harmless, and citizens should not be alarmed.
