SAWYER ––The Sawyer board of trustees, upon a motion by Tom Mandrell, approved the Choctaw County Hazard Mitigation Resolution as it was read and presented during Monday evening’s meeting.

The consent agenda, which consists of the Dec. 17 minutes, financial statements provided to the trustees in writing, purchase orders and claims, were approved upon a motion by Sharon Matthews, following questions from the board regarding a request from the owner of the Finish Line for research about the cost and procedure for improvements to the Internet systems. It was suggested that the matter be brought up during a meeting or in the pre-meeting workshops.

Police Chief Darrell Armstrong presented the police report in writing. It was mentioned that the activity had been slow so far this year. Some questions were answered as posed to trustees regarding the helicopter landing system. During the weekend, an accident required the helicopter’s landing at the fire department.
