“It’s not your God-given right, but it is your Constitutional right,” Mullin said. “I am in strong opposition to the president and his administration (with respect to more gun control) and I am very pro-Second Amendment. I’ll stand up for you.” HUGO — Oklahoma Second District Congressman Markwayne Mullin included Hugo and Choctaw County last week in his first townhall blitz since being sworn in the first week of January. Flanked by a large gallery of law-enforcement officers, Mullin explained that he and his family recently received death threats as a result of his stance against the banning of assault weapons. Mullin said representing Oklahoma’s Second District in the nation’s capital, “is an honor I don’t take lightly.” As the freshman congressman learns the ropes in Washington, D. C., he made it clear that he was highly put off by “party politics.”
