HUGO ––Members of the Choctaw Memorial Hospital board met with the board of county commissioners and the Hugo city council Monday afternoon to discuss financing certain improvements to the Choctaw Memorial Hospital.
These improvements will consist of the construction of a new emergency room facility including the addiction of brick veneer, a standing seem metal roof, a covered canopy entrance with clearance for ambulances and furnishings and equipment. The project is estimated to cost no more that $1,565,000.
Those present from the three entities involved voted unanimously Monday to enter into a competitive bid process to solicit bids for the project from financing institutions and local banks.
Once bids are received, another meeting will be held on June 17 for the purpose of approval. For the project to pass, all three commissioners, four out of five city council members and six out of seven hospital board members must vote to approve and award the bid.
