HUGO ––Members of the Hugo city council tabled action regarding the adoption of the 2013-2014 budget during Tuesday evening’s meeting after the city attorney, Gary Brownsworth, advised to do so.
“The city is well-within the time frame allowed to adopt Resolution No. 809 regarding the budget during the June 18 council meeting,” Brownsworth told the council.
A Hugo resident, whose property was condemned during a December council meeting, was present during Tuesday’s meeting to ask for an extension on removal of the condemned property. Councilors had previously given the resident until the end of May to have the property cleared, but due to medical reasons, the resident was unable to do so. It was decided to allow the resident to be placed on the agenda for the next meeting so that action can be taken on the subject.
Hugo city manager Jeff Rabon announced that Severn Trent has made a $1,000 donation for the city of Hugo to Moore, Okla.
Minutes of the meeting at Choctaw Memorial Hospital on May 20, special meeting minutes on May 31 and the minutes of the regular meeting on May 21, purchase order list and financial statements were approved. Councilmen Bart Tedder and Layton Cox were absent.
