|Hugo budget approved, city manager re-employed|

HUGO ––Hugo city council members met in special session Monday afternoon to approve the budget for the 2013-2014 fiscal year.
Adoption of Resolution No. 809 was approved upon a motion by councilwoman Francine Morris, after a series of questions from councilman Larry Rudrow regarding city garage fund, airport accounts and audit delinquencies were answered.
According to city manager, Jeff Rabon, amendments to this budget can be made at future meetings as long as they have been added to the agenda.
Re-employment of city manager Rabon was approved upon a motion by Rudrow, who also complimented Rabon on the job he has done the past year.
After recommendation from Rabon regarding fraternal order of police contracts, a pay increase for offi cers and communications devices were approved upon a motion by Rudrow. Discussion regarding the contract of the International Association of Firefighters was tabled.
After a lengthy discussion regarding the airport authority’s five-year capital improvement plan, it was decided by the council to submit the original plan for the runway extension at this time. If not approved, the alternate plan for parallel taxiways will possibly be submitted at a later date.
