At 10 a.m. on the Fourth of July, Soper’s Homecoming 2009 began with the annual parade. Riders from Choctaw, Pushmataha and Bryan counties took the reins, along with vintage cars, ATV’s and a variety of floats.
During the barbecue, held behind the school, about 100 people visited under the shade trees. The Class of 1969 Reunion was a highlight of conversation.
Following lunch was a turtle race and the evening’s activities began with gospel singing, then a street dance a few hours later. Float and other contest results were announced at the dance and will be reported sometime this week.
