HUGO — Cake, stories and Bengay were the theme Thursday afternoon on the third floor of the Choctaw County Courthouse.
About 50 friends, family and colleagues of Choctaw County Sheriff Lewis Edward Collins filled the law library to celebrate Collins’ 40 years of law enforcement service and 61st birthday.
“You can count on one hand the number of people that are true friends in your life ... and I consider Lewis one of them,” former state Rep. Randall Erwin said.
Several people had silly and serious stories to share about the sheriff.
