Building and Grounds Technology instructor Homer Chapman has joined the teaching team at Hugo's campus of Kiamichi Technology Center. Following the retirement of Danny Wagnon at year's end, Chapman made the transition from the Antlers campus to Hugo. At Antlers, he held the position of Building and Grounds Technician which is along the lines of the position which Arthur Freeman holds in Hugo. In 2009, building and grounds students are looking forward to positions at the expanded Choctaw Nation Hotel and Casino along with other prospects already in line with the comprehensive training they are receiving at KTC. The skills taught focus on electricity applications, carpentry applications, masonry, welding applications, plumbing, groundskeeping, equipment maintenance, janitorial technology, orientation/safety and employability traits. Chapman students include those of all ages and include High School students from Moyers, Valliant, Rattan, Antlers, Soper, Boswell, Hugo and Fort Towson in both the a.m. and p.m. timeframes.
