HUGO — Gentiva is conducting its fifth annual food drive from now until Sept. 18 to benefit the Sharing Hope food bank in Hugo. Working together with the Hugo Chamber of Commerce and the Ministerial Alliance, Gentiva is collecting both food and monetary donations for this national effort. Sharing Hope has requested donations of canned vegetables, fruits, soups, chili, tuna, packaged spaghetti, seasonings, Hamburger Helper, macaroni and cheese, crackers, cereal, peanut butter, jelly and condiments of all kinds. Monetary donations will be used to purchase food items. Paper bags have been distributed throughout the community and may be filled for pick up by Gentiva staff during the week. Donation bags may be picked up or donations dropped off at the Hugo Chamber of Commerce or Gentiva Home Health at 804 E. Jackson St., Suite 2. The Gentiva office who collects the most items nationwide will receive $500 for its community. Call Pat Collins or Peggy Cravey at 580.326.8376 for more information.
