Officers with the Hugo Police Department had a long night Tuesday after following up on reports of a shooting and the beating of a local business owner. According to statements from HPD, a 21-year-old male was taken to Choctaw Memorial Hospital after being shot while on the north side of Rosewood on Central St. Offi-cers said the victim declined an investigation and prosecution, wanting nothing to come of the incident. Hugo Police also probed an incident occurring at a liquor store on the southwest side of Hugo.
