Editor HUGO ––Members of the Hugo city council approved resolution No. 807 during Tuesday evening’s meeting, after a motion by councilman Bart Tedder, calling for a required election for council members for Ward 3, Ward 4 and an At-Large position. The filing date for the April 2 election will be from Feb. 4 to Feb. 6. Councilmen currently filling these positions are Stan Payne, Layton Cox and Bart Tedder, respectively. Upon a motion by councilman Larry Rudrow, the purchase of a 2013 Ford Explorer from Ed Wallace Motors was approved for the Hugo Police Department. The total cost for the vehicle, including an extended warranty and the police package with lights, siren, etc., totaled $32,581.68. A portion of the payment will stem from the insurance payout that resulted from a totaled patrol unit.
