Miss Rattan to be held March 15

Back row: Courtney Ashley, Michaela England, Caitlin Van Worth, Paitin Robertson and Tamara Morris.The 23rd annual Miss Rattan High School Scholarship will be at 7 p. m. March 15 at the Rattan gymnasium. Ten beautiful and talented young ladies will be competing for the crown of Miss RHS and more than $9,000 in scholarships and prizes.

The night will begin with the contestants performing to the popular hit, “Burlesque.” The contestants are judged on interview, introduction, talent and evening gown.
The contestants are selected by their peers in school clubs and organizations to compete for Miss RHS and must maintain their grades to be eligible.
This year, Michaela England will represent Skills USA; Elisha Crow will represent the Freshman Class; Brianna Chiles will represent FCCLA; Paitin Robertson will represent Basketball; Jordan Awtry will represent the Senior Class; Caitlin Peach will represent Choir; Angelica Smith will represent the Junior Class; Caitlin VanWorth will represent the Academic Team; Tamara Morris will represent the Drama Club; and Courtney Ashley will represent the Sophomore Class.
The young ladies will be escorted by some of Rattan’s finest young men, including: Casey Waldrum, Trevor Gonser, Mark Baze, Trent Davis, Reed Shaw, Zac Hobbs, Cody Babcock, Ivan Baker, Brian Heady and Christopher VanVranken.
Also returning to the stage and performing will be Miss RHS 2013, Sarah Williams; Miss RHS 2012, Stepheney Haddox; Just Three More, and Jacey Gibbs.  Mr. Stephen Smallwood will be the master of ceremonies for the evening.
This year’s pageant guarantees to be an evening full of fantastic entertainment, amazing talents and beautiful young ladies vying for college scholarships in hopes of becoming Miss RHS 2014. A 60-inch Vizio flat screen tv will also be given away from the chances that the contestants sold. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
