Miss VHS Scholarship Pageant to be held Saturday

Valliant High School announces the Miss VHS 2014 Pageant to be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 19 in the auditorium. Each young lady will participate in a talent event, evening gown modeling and a pre-pageant interview. Melisa Bruno, Miss VHS 2013 will be attending and performing an Irish dance and crowning the 2014 Miss VHS. Admission is $5. (Pictured in order from left top to bottom; right top to bottom).
Raelan Bailey. Raelan is a junior and is representing the Art Club. Raelan Jay Bailey is the 17-year-old daughter of Kelly Compton and Darren J. Bailey of Valliant. She is the granddaughter of Ronnie and Connie Compton of Valliant and Martha Bailey and the late Danny Bailey of Hugo. Miss Raelan Bailey will be signing to the song “I Can Only Imagine.”
Brook Johnston. Brook is a junior and is representing the Valliant Bulldog Football Team. Brook Nicole Johnston is the 17-year-old daughter of Jamie and Eric Taylor of Idabel and Tony and Leslie Johnston of Valliant. She is the granddaughter of Rodney and Penny Johnston of Valliant, Bill Barnhart of Valliant, Ralph and Peggy Miller of Valliant, and Phillip and Jeannie Taylor of Haworth. She will be performing a dance routine to “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.”
Rachel Carlile. Rachel is a senior and is representing National Honor Society. Rachel Kaylyn Carlile is the 18-year-old daughter of Lisa and Michael Carlile of Hugo. She is the granddaughter of Margie and Troy Morris of Hugo and Kim and William Carlile of Hugo. She will be performing a piano solo – “Skyfall” by Adele.
Jaiden Jordan. Jaiden is a freshman and is representing Student Council. Jaiden Danielle Jordan is the 15-year-old daughter of Danny and Karla Jordan of Garvin. She is the granddaughter of Lisa Gray of Hallsville, Dale and Veva Jordan of Garvin, and Roger and Joyce Freeman of Idabel. Jaiden will be performing a Jazz/Hip-Hop Dance to Rhianna’s “Only Girl in the World.”
Alexis Holley. Alexis is a senior and is representing Spanish Club and Show Choir. Alexis Nicole Holley is the 18-year-old daughter of Heather Bourne of Garvin. She is the granddaughter of Steve and Cheryl Hopkins of Garvin. Alexis will be singing and performing a skit to “In My Own Little Corner” from Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway.
Kammie Mussett. Kammie is a junior and is representing Boys Varsity Basketball. Kammie ShyAnn Mussett is the 17-year-old daughter of Mike and Anjie Mussett of Valliant. She is the granddaughter of Paula and Betty Roberts of Wright City, Brian and Melody Colberson of Wilburton, the late Serena Roberts of Wright City, and the late Mike Mussett, Sr. of Valliant. Kammie will be singing a solo, “My Heart Will Go On.”
Melissa Brooks. Melissa is a sophomore and is representing Jazz Band and Cheerleading. Melissa Jane Brooks is the16-year-old daughter of Tammy Young of Ringold and Guyton Brooks of Valliant. She is the granddaughter of Larry and Eliza Young of Ringold and Lowell and Neve Grelle of Valliant. Melissa will be singing “Let it Go” by Idina Menzel.
Hannah Nance. Hannah is a freshman and is representing FFA. Hannah Cheyenne Nance is the 15-year-old daughter of Ronnie Nance of Valliant and the granddaughter of JoeBen and Karen Nance of Valliant. Hannah will be doing a self-choreographed dance from the roaring 20s to the song “That Man.”
Halee Elledge. Halee is a senior and is representing the Senior Class. Halee Diane Elledge is the 18 year old daughter of Diane and Doug Elledge of Valliant. She is the granddaughter of Ralph and Peggy Miller of Valliant, Cliff Elledge of Valliant, and Claudine Willingham of Valliant. Halee will be singing the Glee arrangement of “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”
Cameron Robison. Cameron is a senior and is representing Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA). Cameron Brooke Robison is the 18-year-old daughter of Michael and Kimberly Robison of Valliant. She is the granddaughter of Edward and Eleanor Snyder of Wenatchee, Wash., and George and Lavella Robison of Hugo. Cameron will be singing “Shy” from the Broadway musical Once Upon a Mattress.
