Funeral services for Beverly Elaine Hamill, of Grant, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. May 9, 2024 at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Our mother, Beverly Elaine Hamill of Grant, Okla., was born on April 1, 1953 in McKinney, Texas, the daughter of Dwayne Yates and Kathryn (Newberry) Yates. Beverly passed away peacefully in the love and embrace of her family on May 5, 2024 in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 71. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Terry Yates.

Beverly married her beloved husband, Robert Hamill on Feb. 20, 1971 in Balch Springs, Texas, and after a short time in Germany with the U.S. Army, they then settled to raise their family in Garland, Texas. Later, after retiring as a computer programmer for Rockwell International, she and Bobby retired to Grant, Okla., in 2009. Beverly enjoyed taking road trips with Bobby, especially accompanying him to the many sporting events in the area.

She liked to go out to eat and go to the casino. Beverly loved her cats, Miss Libby, Booboo and crocheting but she especially loved spending time with her grandkids. Beverly enjoyed planning family get togethers around the holidays and spending time with family and friends. She had the warmest smile that would brighten the darkest day.

Beverly has left a void in the lives of her family and friends, and her memory will always be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

Beverly is survived by her husband and childhood friend of 64 years, Robert Hamill of the home; sons: Robert Alan Hamill of Royse City, Texas, James Clayton Hamill and wife, Alma of Terrell, Texas, and Travis Lane Thompson and wife, Tabatha of Carmine, Texas; daughter, Amy Lynn Law and husband, Robert of Commerce, Texas; 16 grandkids and six great-grandchildren, along with countless nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 8, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Interment will follow the service at Mt.

Olivet Cemetery with Bro. Mark Sanders officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
