Ilene Wren Bryan

Ilene Wren Bryan joined loved ones on Nov. 14, 2020 as she was received by her Heavenly Father, having accepted Christ as Savior early in life. She was born Aug. 4, 1925 to Ila Randolph and J.W. (Buck) Phillips in Lamesa, Texas.

Ilene became a World War II bride, marrying Lt. Bruce Wren, Jr. on Christmas Day in 1944, and living in six different states before returning home to West Texas at war’s end.

Ilene lived on a farm engaged in irrigated farming for many years and moved with her family to Tucson, Ariz., in 1957, then in 1977 moved to Choctaw County to raise cattle, and finally to Paris, Texas, after the death of her husband.

Ilene then married Pat H. Bryan of Edmond, Okla., for 13 years.

Ilene loved her Lord, family and work as a Sunday School teacher through the years from beginners, juniors and adults. Her favorite activities later in life were playing Skip-BO with her grandchildren and cooking them breakfast. Survivors include: Gary Wren and wife,

Survivors include: Gary Wren and wife, Greta of Conroe, Texas, Rodney Wren and wife, Kathy of Hugo, Okla.; grandchildren: Wendy Collier, Martha Aguilar and husband, Dr. James Aguilar, Daniel Wren, Jimmy Wren and wife, Shawna, Laura Vander Veur and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren: Chloe Berkey, Gracie Collier, Addie Collier, Jackson Wren, Thomas Wren, Joseph Wren, Benjamin Aguilar, William Aguilar and Joshua Vander Veur; nieces: Cindy Finley and husband, Neil; great-niece, Heather Abel and husband, Tim, and son, Will.

Services are under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
