HUGO –– A new face will be seen in the hallways of Hugo High School this year. Greg Holt, a longtime educator, was selected by members of the Hugo board of education as the new principal for the high school.

Boswell School moves to virtual learning

With a recent report of positive COVID-19 cases with staff members at Boswell Public Schools, superintendent Keith Edge has announced the school’s plan to move to virtual learning. “Boswell Schools have confirmed positive COVID-19 cases with some staff members,” Edge said.

The Hugo Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed the new teachers at Hugo Schools with gift bags that included items from Chamber members. President Michele Frazier (third from right, back row) and Chamber Executive Director Donna Head (first left, back row) gave ideas of field trips here in Hugo like the ARK, Showman’s Rest plus many more fun things to do at the Frisco Depot. The team recently brought home a second place tournament trophy from the East Texas Hoops Tournament in Roxton, Texas.

After the GAC announced it would cancel all conference games through Sept. 28, SOSU Coach Keith Baxter was forced to postpone the university’s first three games of the fall season against Ouachita Baptist (Sept. 10), Henderson State (Sept. 19) and Northwestern OSU (Sept. 26).
