Michael Wayne Gray, 58, of Hugo, Okla., passed away on Feb. 27, 2021.

Funeral services for Curtis Eugene Bailey, of Grant, will be held at 2 March 11, 2021 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo. Curtis passed away March 6, 2021, at the age of 66.

Funeral services for Floyd (J.C.) Roebuck, of Boswell, Okla., will be at 10 am. March 11, 2021 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Congratulations to the Hugo Buffaloes, both boys and girls teams, for their historic dual trip to the Oklahoma State basketball playoffs. It appears to be the only time in the school’s history that both teams have earned trips at the same time, so they are deserving of some major kudos.

Rob Standridge, R-Norman, has won approval from the full Senate for Senate Joint Resolution 23, calling for an Article V Convention of States to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Standridge has advocated for a Convention of States for several years, and worked closely with his friend, the late U.S. Senator, Tom on the issue.

Members of the Hugo Lions Club recognized two Students of the Month from the Hugo High School Leo Club - Kayla Loftin and Patrick Hammons (picture includes Mrs. Lori Hicks, HHS Counselor and Mr. Greg Holt, HHS Principal). These students represent the best of an outstanding student organization committed to serving others. The most recent Lions Club project, the Annual Hugo Easter Egg Hunt, has turned into a partnership with many others who are joining in the effort to help the children of Hugo have a great Easter. These include Pepsi, Hugo Public Schools, the HHS Leo Club, the Hugo Area Chamber of Commerce, Hugo Rotary Club, the HMS Interact Club, Little Dixie Community Action Agency, and the HHS Baseball Team. This event will be held at Ansley Park at 3 p.m. on Easter Sunday. Admission is free for the two age groups - kindergarten and under and first through fifth grade. The Easter Bunny will be there.
