• Safe Kids says more than half of car seats not used correctly Hugo’s smaller residents are now a little safer. A certified Safe Kids car seat installer was on hand March 10 to make sure car seats were installed correctly.

CITY AND LAW OFFICIALS held a public meeting last Thursday to update citizens about current crime in Hugo. Approximately 20 people were in attendance to ask questions and give advice. Hugo Police Chief John Mitchell reminded the public about the city’s curfew. According to Mitchell, the cufew is from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays and 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. on weekends. “We’ve got to develop trust between the community and law enforcement,” Mitchell said. “Come talk to me... we’ll shut the door and talk about anything. If it will save a life, I’ll try anything.”
