RATTAN — Rattan’s Ben Ellis threw a 1-hit shutout over Hugo on the RAM’s home field last Thursday, striking out seven and walking only one. His teammates backed up the arm scattering seven hits, inclusing one home run by Dawson Addington enroute to the 8-0 decision. Rattan plated five runs in the second inning to take a big lead over Hugo.

Buffaloes spank Haworth, 17-7

The Hugo Buffaloes put up a solid 17-7 win over the Haworth Lions Friday with Camdon Holt leading at the plate, slapping two home runs and booking 4 RBIs for the game. The Buffaloes scattered 16 hits on offense, and backed up starting pitche Ashton Barnett with zero errors in the field.

Buffalo basketball season ends at Regionals

The Buffaloes season came to an end last Tuesday night after a 58-34 loss to Prague in Regionals. Hugo had dropped the first game in Regionals to Bethel before overtaking Lexington to keep their State tournament hopes alive, but Prague, which had a dominant regular season, proved to be too much for the Buffs to handle.

Boswell cruises past Achille, 13-0

The Boswell Scorpions cruised past Achille in recent baseball action, scorching the base paths with a massive 12-run first inning and a 13-0 win. The Scorpions were led by Jessie Gardner and Brenden Robinson, each with three hits.

Interviews focused on the history of sustainable agriculture have been turned into a limited podcast series, “Sustainable Agriculture Policy with Ron Kroese.” The interviews are a part of an oral history archive documenting the development and evolution of public policies to advance sustainable and organic agriculture going back to the 1970s. More than 40 women and men featured are among the key leaders and advocates who played significant roles in devising and promoting the laws and government programs that continue to undergird efforts to achieve a sustainable farming and food system in the U.S.
