Hugo: Elevation is 1 ft. above normal after weekend rains, water temperature 62°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, live bait, punch bait, shad, stinkbait, and sunfish below the dam, channels, river channel, shorelines, and standing timber. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows below the dam, brush structure, main lake, river channel, and standing timber. Report submitted by Andrew Potter, game warden stationed in Choctaw County.

Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery, Boswell. Jack went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, in Boswell, at the age of 94.

Warrior Wellness launched for Native American veterans

DURANT –– Choctaw Nation launched Warrior Wellness, a grant-funded program, during the recent Choctaw Nation Veterans Day Ceremony. The new program is designed to connect Native American veterans with their culture, heritage, and each other to reduce rates of death by suicide among veterans.
