Nature walk at Fort Towson Historic Site

The Fort Towson Historic Site will host a nature walk on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. The walk will be led by Kara Richardson of Broken Bow. Richardson draws on her experiences as a southeast Oklahoma native to advocate for natural resources education and the perpetuation of wild herbs and medicinal plants.

Conservation Commission votes to approve cost-share program year 26 guidelines

The Oklahoma Conservation Commission (OCC) has unanimously approved guidelines for the 2026 Conservation Cost Share Program, marking a critical step forward in the state’s environmental efforts. The Program Year runs March 4, 2024, through August 31, 2025 and aims to support local conservation projects with timely completion and funding.
