Sen. Bullard authors initiative petition changes

Oklahoma Watch Senate Bill 1027 by David Bullard, R-Durant, cleared the Senate on a party-line vote on Tuesday afternoon. The bill would add the following hurdles to Oklahoma’s initiative petition process: Shifts decision-making authority, including approving the gist of the proposition, from the Oklahoma Supreme Court to the Secretary of State’s office.

to point It was a special weekend in Hugo this past Friday and Saturday, as the community played host to the “Circus Fans Association of America.” The organization will be 100 years old next year, and this was their very first time to hold their annual convention in Hugo... which of course has a worldwide reputation as Circus City— USA! While here, Association President Tim Tegee, who also is an active Ring Master for the Royal Hanneford Circus, and members of CFA were given special tours of the Endangered Ark Foundation, Showman’s Rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Growler Pines Tiger Preserve and attended the season-opening performance of the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus on Saturday.
