BLM schedules wild horse, burro event

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will hold a two-day wild horse and burro event in Poteau, Okla., April 11-12, at the Phil Gardenhire Memorial Rodeo Arena in Poteau. The two-day event, featuring 100 wild horses and burros, will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 11. Adoptions will be held from noon-6 p.m. on April 11, and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, April 12. Animals are eligible for adoption. Inquire with BLM staff onsite for more information.

The Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board will award its second round of grants to help combat the state’s opioid epidemic, Attorney General Gentner Drummond has announced. The board voted this week to issue up to $29 million in grant awards to Oklahoma counties, municipalities, public school districts, technology school districts and public trusts later this year.

OMRF exercise study seeks participants ages 60 and over

If so and you’re age 60 or older, the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation has a pathway to propel you into a healthier lifestyle. Two OMRF scientists are seeking 75 healthy Oklahoma City-area residents to complete a comprehensive study for people in that age group who do not regularly exercise.
