A special meeting was held at noon last Thursday of the Hugo city council, who retired into executive session for approximately 30 minutes to discuss the possible employment of Richard Higginbotham for interim city manager.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Jeffery Scott Pinkston, age 40, of Hugo, Okla., was sentenced to 37 months in prison for one count of possession of certain material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.
