Pinkston sentenced for possessing child sexual abuse material

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Jeffery Scott Pinkston, age 40, of Hugo, Okla., was sentenced to 37 months in prison for one count of possession of certain material involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.

The official deadline to request absentee ballots for the June 10 Fort Towson Municipal Board Election by mail is Monday, May 26. However since Monday, May 26 is Memorial Day Holiday, the deadline for hand delivered requests is Friday, May 23 by 4 p.m. Application requests mailed in must still be postmarked no later than midnight May 26, and online requests must be requested and time stamped by 4:59 p.m. May 26. Voters may submit applications online through the Oklahoma State Election Board website through the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/ elections/ovp.

Drummond issues consumer alert for concerned 23and Me customers

Attorney General Gentner Drummond is alerting Oklahoma consumers in the wake of 23andMe having filed for bankruptcy protection last month. The genetic testing company, which collects and analyzes the genetic code of consumers, has indicated its intent to sell its corporate assets, a move likely to include stored genetic data submitted by customers.
