Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) has received federal guidance from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to issue partial Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for November 2025. OKDHS has been proactively preparing and has completed required system work so benefits can be delivered to eligible households as quickly as possible.

Michael Plummer, of Hugo, was this week’s winner of the Hugo News Football Contest after choosing 17 out of 18 games correctly. Plummer guessed closest (350) to the OU Sooners’ total yardage (323) to edge out Cathy Stanfield. Oklahoma – The Eastern Oklahoma State College soils judging team earned first place overall at the 2025 Collegiate Region IV Soil Judging Contest, hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. Competing against two-year colleges from Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and New Mexico, Eastern delivered a dominant performance with 11 students finishing in the top 20 individually.

Oklahoma Human Services is partnering with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma to offer limited emergency food boxes for eligible SNAP participants in all of Oklahoma’s 77 counties who have been affected by the federal government shutdown.
