Several District 19 residents have asked the Hugo News to investigate recent court activity relating to candidate Anthony DeVore. According to McIntosh County court records, Devore pled “nolo contendere to/of being a spectator for cockfighting.”

The Hugo Buffaloes stroked out 10 hits and and plated six runs last week against the Preston Pirates, but that wasn’t enough to overcome the Pirates in a close 6-7 loss. Hugo’s lead-off hitter, Jakoby Teague again led the Buffaloes with three hits and Jayka Santillan had two.
