Choctaw Nation Housing Authority designated Seven Star Community for their ConnectHome program for the second year in a row The National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) has honored the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma Housing Authority (HACNO) ConnectHome program as one of its Seven Star Communities for the second consecutive year. Seven Star communities are recognized as national models of excellence for sustainable digital connectivity solutions addressing the educational, health, economic, cultural, and social needs of Tribal communities.

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) has received the 2026 Gallup Exceptional Workplace Award (GEWA) for a second consecutive year. This award recognizes organizations worldwide for outstanding employee engagement and for creating environments where employees feel valued, heard, and empowered to excel.

Insight School of Oklahoma (ISOK) is recognizing Hugo resident and 11thgrade English language arts teacher Abigail Woods with its 2026 Rising Ember Award. The honor is given to an educator in their first two years at ISOK who demonstrates exceptional dedication, impact and leadership.

Brandon Mize, with FirstBank, in Hugo recently completed the Oklahoma Bankers Association Commercial Lending School in Oklahoma City. Mize was among 68 graduates of the school, which was held March 1-6 at the OBA Harris Event Center in Oklahoma City.
