Annual quilt show to be held May 8-9

The sixth annual “Eiffel in Love with Quilts” Quilt Show is this weekend in Paris, Texas, at the Love Civic Center. Held by the Red River Valley Quilt Guild, the show will open Friday May 8 at 9 a.m.

Fort Towson 4-H wins County Land Judging

The Choctaw County Land Judging was in March. The members judged the soil texture, depth of the soil, slope of the land, erosion by water and wind, permeability of the soil, surface runoff, major factors of the soil, land capability, vegetative, mechanical treatments, fertilizer and soil amendment.

Trail of Tears memorial walk honors ancestors

• Tribal members, friends of the Choctaw Nation are welcome to join TVSHKA HOMMA –– The Trail of Tears will be remembered by both members of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and friends of the tribe as a portion of the Walk is reenacted.
