Southeast Oklahoma Quilt Trail hosted a beginner barn quilt painting class on Saturday, Jan. 23. The class was the first class held by the newly organized group, but not the last. Barn Quilts, as they are usually called, originated as good luck signs and were actually hand-painted on barns in Pennsylvania in the 1800s to bring good luck to the farm and on the Underground Railroad as secret codes…
