Choctaw County sees low turnout in June 16 primary election

CHOCTAW COUNTY –– Voter participation was limited in the June 16 primary election, according to unofficial results released by the Election Board.

Of the county’s 9,204 registered voters (reported in May) –– including 5,137 Republicans, 2,580 Democrats, 1,433 Independents and 54 Libertar-ians— less than 2,000 cast ballots in the election.
