Ordinance takes effect Sept. 3

A number of Hugo area residents have inquired as to when the city’s recent-ly passed no parking on sidewalk ordinance will go into effect, so we reached out to City Manager Justin Suddeth for clarification.

Suddeth commented: “The ordinance will take effect on Sept. 3, 2026, as Oklahoma law requires a 30-day period before enforcing new ordinances.
