Wynona “Noni” Faye (Baldwin) Cooksey
and operated Ringold Cafe for 45 years and made the best homemade pies in the state. Noni was also a foster parent for many years. She loved everyone she met, but especially loved her dogs, her flowers and her Dr. Pepper. Noni had the sweetest smile and biggest heart and will be so missed by those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Gene Cooksey of Ringold; sisters: Phyllis Johnson of Ringold and Glenda Crawford and husband of Marianna, Fla.; nephews, nieces; step-daughter, Vicky Polk; step-sons: C.L. Cline, Curtis Cline, Chad Cline and Chan Cline and families; sistersin Funeral services for Wynona “Noni” Faye (Baldwin) Cooksey, of Ringold, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024 at Old Burwell Church of Christ in Ringold.
Wynona “Noni” Faye (Baldwin) Cooksey went to her heavenly home on Sept. 13, 2024, passing at her home in Ringold, Okla., at the age of 88. She was born on Jan. 16, 1936 in Ringold, Okla., the daughter of Harden Lee Baldwin and Oma (Cody) Baldwin. Noni was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Mable Louise (Perrin) Baldwin; first husband, Charley “Junior” Abbott; second husband, Charles Cline; brother, Bernie Ray Baldwin and a sister-in-law.
Noni was a lifelong member of the Ringold community. She was a founding member of The Old Burwell Church of Christ and the Ringold Fire Department. Noni was a Sunday School teacher for many years and would pick up kids from all over to take them to church with the promise of chocolate milk. She owned law and brothers-in-law; a greatnephew and cousins; along with a host of other great-nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Valliant.
Interment will follow the service at Old Ringold Cemetery with Bro. Jim Staggs and Bro. Billy Dale officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
