Billy DeWayne Cogburn

Funeral services for Billy DeWayne Cogburn, of Hugo, Okla., were held Dec. 19, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel. Billy passed away Dec. 16, 2025, at the age of 64.

Billy DeWayne Cogburn was born on April 24, 1961 in Hugo, Okla., the son of Wayne A. Cogburn and Billie Ruth (Irvin) Cogburn. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sharon “Renea” (Cogburn) Rutledge.

Billy was a life-long resident of Choctaw County. He spent his professional life working with his hands, spending many years working at the local radiator shop and as a plumber. Beyond his work, Billy was a man of many interests. He was frequently found conversing with friends near and far on his CB radio where his voice was well-known across the airwaves. Billy made countless friends and shared stories, advice and laughter. Gardening was another of Billy’s interests and he took great pleasure in teaching others the secrets of his thriving garden. He also liked fishing and hunting and often found solace in nature.

Billy is survived by two nephews and friends, along with many other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Fort Towson Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
