A proud resident of Boswell, Okla., for the majority of his life, Billy was a graduate of Bennington High School. Following his education, he bravely served his country in the US Army’s 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War, where he was recognized for his valor with the Army Commendation Medal for Heroism in military operations against a hostile force. His commitment to service continued in his professional life as he dedicated 23 years to the US Department of Agriculture as a Field Inspector, ensuring the integrity and safety of agricultural products.
Beyond his professional achievements, Billy was known for his love of leisurely visits to the casino and the simple pleasure of dining out at restaurants. He was a man who understood the value of life’s joys and the importance of creating memories with those around him.
Billy is survived by his loving wife, Sherry, who shared in his life’s journey from their home in Boswell. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Melissa Gallagher and her husband, Smith of Sawyer, Okla., and his two sons: Justin Daniels of Boswell, and Jacob Daniels and his wife, Nacona of Hugo, Okla. His legacy continues through his grandchildren: Kountri, Kade, Jace, Kort and Chekota Daniels, who will forever cherish the lessons and love he imparted.
His life was also enriched by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss his presence and the warmth he brought to their lives. Billy was the kind of man who made a lasting impact on everyone he met, leaving a void that will be felt deeply by all who knew him. Billy was preceded in death by his three brothers: John, Eddie Joe and James Vansickle, and his nephew, Jason Vansickle. His family takes comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with those who have gone before him.
